Building the Foundation for Long-Term Hockey Success
High school is a pivotal time for female hockey players. It’s not about chasing big lifts or building bulk—it’s about transforming work in the gym directly to ability on the ice.
Unfortunately, too many players fall into generic programs built for bodybuilders, football players, or endurance athletes. These workouts chase weight or miles but do little for skating, shot power, or injury prevention.
Our approach is different and focuses on the Four Pillars of Hockey Performance:
- Movement Quality
How you move matters more than how much you lift.
Efficient patterns create durability and make speed and power show up on the rink.
Poor mechanics build bad habits and raise injury risk, no matter your strength.
- Rate of Force Development
Strength only counts if you can use it fast.
Hockey is a game of milliseconds—explosive strides, quick changes, and powerful shots.
The key isn’t just strength—it’s producing more force in less time.
- Rotational Power
Most training programs rely on straight lines. Hockey is played through the hips and core, snapping into shots, stabilizing through contact, and powering turns.
Rotational strength enables seamless energy transfer from the legs to the core to the stick—fueling harder shots and faster skating.
- Conditioning
Stamina can make or break a player. But training like a distance runner doesn’t prepare you for the specific energy demands of shift work.
And endless conditioning drills only leave you gassed but slower.
Our approach mirrors the game itself: short bursts of max effort, quick recovery, and progressions that build the ability to stay fast shift after shift.
Program Details
A scientific approach to building the foundations for hockey performance.
Our step-by-step system combines cutting-edge technology and the latest training techniques to empower you with everything you need to build fluid, dynamic movement.
01. Comprehensive Evaluation
We believe a training program should be built around you, not the other way around. Your journey begins with our signature movement screen and athletic testing battery, designed to uncover restrictions or asymmetries and identify areas of strength and weakness.
02. Custom Programming
Stop wasting your time with random tactics. Most training programs fail because they don’t meet you where you are. Our programs take a holistic approach to athlete development based on your unique structure, movement strategies, and current abilities.
03. Expert Coaching
Rocky had Mickey. Luke had Obei-Wan. Daniel had Mr. Miyagi. There are few things in sports or life more powerful than having a coach in your corner—someone you can trust to answer questions, make tweaks and adjustments, and keep you motivated and accountable.
04. Performance Monitoring
Modern technologies like force plates, laser timers, and velocity-based training devices are like having a GPS for your body. Not only do they allow us to quantify improvements, but they also provide objective feedback every workout to ensure we never get off track.

Dan Gluck
I’m a strength and conditioning coach and licensed athletic trainer with over a decade of experience helping athletes feel and perform their best. As a former collegiate lacrosse player and long-time Stinky Socks Hockey guy (8+ years, skating 3+ times a week), I know what it’s like to juggle work, family, and still want to compete hard. My goal is simple: help adult hockey players move better, feel better, and stay healthy—so you can keep skating often, play at a high level, and actually enjoy the game you love.
